RETURNS & REFUNDS
Everything you should know about returning or exchanging school uniforms, with simple steps and friendly clarity
Shopping for the right school uniform is easier when you know you’re covered if something doesn’t fit or doesn’t feel right. This post breaks down Lowes’ return, exchange, and refund policy for schoolwear so you can shop with confidence and avoid surprises.
Proof of Purchase Is Key
Whether you bought online or in store, you’ll need proof of purchase when returning or exchanging an item. Acceptable proof includes:
- Your original register receipt (printed or electronic)
- Your online order number or packing slip (printed or electronic)
Keep your receipt or order confirmation handy - it’s the golden ticket for returns!
Change-of-Mind Returns (Size, Fit, Colour)
If you simply changed your mind or ordered the wrong size, Lowes will happily help within 30 days of purchase - with a few conditions.
Here’s what to know:
- Items must be returned within 30 days of purchase
- Returned items must be “as new” - unworn and unwashed
- Original tags and labels must be attached
- Items must be in original packaging
- Proof of purchase is required
Return/exchange is not available on:
- Underwear / innerwear
- Gift cards
- Charity products
- Clearance items (unless they meet fault criteria)
If these conditions are not met, Lowes reserves the right to refuse the return.
How to Return Your Uniform
You have a couple of easy options:
Return In Store
Bring your eligible item and proof of purchase into any Lowes store - no additional cost for drop-off.
Return by Post
If you bought online and can’t make it to a store:
- Visit the Australia Post Returns portal via the Lowes returns page
- Print out the returns slip and your tax invoice
- Pack the item securely and attach your return label
- Drop your parcel at any Australia Post Office
Important: For change-of-mind returns by post, postage costs are your responsibility. Original delivery fees are not refundable.
Returns sent without using the portal won’t be tracked and may delay processing.
Damaged or Faulty Items
Things happen - but if your uniform is damaged or faulty through no fault of your own, Lowes will help.
Here’s how it works:
- Proof of purchase is required
- Lowes may request photos or further information
- If confirmed faulty, Lowes may:
- Repair the item
- Replace it
- Refund the purchase price
Return postage is covered if the fault is related to Lowes, the manufacturer, or delivery.
A Few Things to Remember
- Always check tags and condition before returning
- Worn or soiled items may not be accepted
- Original delivery fees aren’t refundable for change-of-mind returns
- Clearance and specialised items may have different rules
- This policy complements your rights under Australian Consumer Law
